Male irritability

Irritable male syndrome. (IMS)

It is very common for us women to be criticized for our crazy mood swings in both menstruation and menopause, but men have news that you also have crazy mood swings. Ask me that I live with a father, two brothers and three nephews most of the day, and I have had the opportunity to observe them.

A few days ago I came across a publication that talked about the "Irritable male syndrome", and today I want to share information about this topic.

What is it?

It is a disorder produced by the decline of testosterone, the male hormone par excellence. Also known as "grumpy man syndrome", referring to one of the seven dwarves of the story Snow White.

Who does it affect?

As its name implies affects men, age may vary; Some doctors mention that it can start in the 40-50 years, others say that in the 35-40 years, and others comment that it can happen in young men who may suffer hormonal imbalance (yes men, you also have hormonal changes like women , is a reality). In this syndrome, stress and anxiety play a very important role for men to present.

Testosterone levels in men decrease at a rate of 2% per year, occurring at 35 years of age. The fall is slow and progressive, but there are men who have low base production and when it starts to decline, the fall is more abrupt. And this increases the frequency of chronic depressive syndromes.

Symptom.

In order to identify whether men are suffering from Irritable Male Syndrome. According to US psychiatrist Jed Diamond, the IMS, which he calls "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse", are:
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Anxiety
  • Frustration
  • Cholera ("The Grumpy Man")
Dr. Eduardo Kalina, a psychiatrist and professor of psychiatry at the University of Salvador, Bs. As., Enumerates by way of example the most common symptoms with which the Irritable Male Syndrome is expressed.

  • Irritable.
  • Frustrated.
  • Impatient.
  • Accuser.
  • Hostile, with loss of control of aggressiveness.
  • Resentful, do not forgive, but generally later regrets.
  • Anxious.
  • Tired, anergic (exhausted), muscle weakness.
  • Attack if he feel hurt.
  • Tantrums.
  • Excessive control of affects.
  • Impenetrable (stone face).
  • Shame for his current status and sometimes for his life.
  • Feelings of failure and / or ruin.
  • Hopeless.
  • Angry, as a way to feel secure.
  • Increases in the consumption of tobacco, alcohol, medications or self-medication and also of other substances "psycho-neuro-bio-socio-toxic".
  • Loss or rise in body weight.
  • Decreased libido and / or other sexual disorders.
  • Shelter on television.
  • Tendency to play excessive sports.
  • Sexual hobbies or sexual apathy.
  • Super demanding with others, that "if they treated him well his condition would be different".
  • Doubts about "whether he is loved or accepted by others".
Treatment. As with menopause to reduce symptoms there is a hormone replacement therapy for men, which will be carried out after accurate tests, and provided there is no express contraindication that could harm the patient.Testosterone levels are analyzed, not forgetting to do the same with prolactin, a hormone that is produced in the pituitary gland and that acts to stimulate and maintain the milk secretion of women, but which in men interferes with libido and causes gynecomastia (Growth of the breasts) and, eventually, galactorrhea (milk secretion), among other imbalances.

This is how gentlemen, as you can see women are not the only ones to look crazy crazy about the hormonal changes, you also have them and they appear at any moment, not just once a month as women with menstruation. And most men do not realize these mood swings.

Political fanaticism.

Political fanaticism.    In recent years, a very latent phenomenon that has been growing dangerously and vertiginously, in a context of high polarization; this distorter is presented as an enemy of electoral conscience and a healthy and mature democracy, it is political fanaticism.    But let's start by defining fanaticism:    According to the definition of the Royal Spanish Academy : it is an “excessive passion and tenacity in the defense of beliefs or opinions, especially religious or political ones”.    For Voltaire: “Fanaticism is to superstition what delirium is to fever, what rage is to anger. He who has ecstasies, visions, who takes dreams for realities and his imaginations for prophecies is a novice fanatic with great hopes; he may soon get to kill for God's sake."    Therefore, fanaticism is identified by the desire to impose their ideas, despise those who are different, be based on a series of thoughts that are unquestionable, have a square view of t

Earthquakes-Mexico

Earthquakes in Mexico.   In Mexico along with other countries, earthquakes are very common and this is because it is part of the Belt or Ring of Fire, located on the coasts of the Pacific Ocean and is characterized by concentrating some of the most important subduction zones of the world, which causes an intense seismic and volcanic activity in the areas covered.   The National Seismological Service in Mexico recorded only 16 thousand 540 earthquakes in the last 12 years, which means that there are almost 4 earthquakes per day in the country. Throughout the history of Mexico there have been dev astating earthquakes of great magnitude: One of the largest earthquakes in Mexico was March 28, 1787, on the coast of Oaxaca, with a magnitude of 8.6. It is also known as "The Great Mexican Tsunami," and caused one of the greatest damages in the history of Oaxaca, flooding everything in its path up to six kilometers inland, near what is now Puerto Angel and
