Coronavirus.
December 2019 was the month when we all started hearing about a new virus that started causing diseases and deaths in Wuhan, China. This virus, which is now known as COVID-19, gradually spread through various countries, reaching America, so in March 2020 the WHO declared a global pandemic.
It is very true that a lot of false information about this virus began to spread creating panic in people, which is not the the best ally in these situations, the data are shown below was obtained from the official website of the World Organization Health, remember that being well informed of what is happening and of course following the measures recommended by governments and health officials in each country, can help the virus to continue spreading.

- Coronaviruses are an extensive family of viruses that can cause disease in both animals and humans.
- In humans, they cause respiratory infections that can range from the common cold to more serious illnesses such as the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the current COVID-19.
- The symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, tiredness, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea.
- Some people may be infected and have no symptoms.
- About 80% of people with COVID-19 recover from the disease.
- 1 in 6 people can develop a serious illness and have respiratory difficulties.
- Older people and those with a medical condition such as hypertension, diabetes, heart problems are more likely to develop serious illnesses from COVID-19.
- Only 2% of people who have contracted this virus have died.
- COVID-19 is transmitted by having contact with a person infected by the virus.

WHO recommendations:
- Wash your hands very well and often with soap and water and use an alcohol-based disinfectant.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover mouth and nose with bent elbow or handkerchief when coughing and sneezing, and the handkerchief should be discarded immediately.
- Stay home if symptoms develop and speak to local health authorities.
- Stay informed about the news of COVID-19.
- Follow the instructions of those in charge of health.
- Do not self-medicate.
- Clinical masks should only be used by people who are sick or those who have contact with a sick person.
- Masks should be worn once and discarded.
- Ignore alarmist notes or home remedies against COVID-19.
