Infructescence.

We all know fruits and vegetables and to differentiate them we have that fruits have seeds, while vegetables can be roots, stems, and leaves, and both provide us with many nutrients to our body.

But we have another classification the infructescences, which until recently I met because it is not common for us to hear this word or have taught it at school (or maybe they did teach it, and I do not remember).

What are they?

According to the Oxford dictionary: A fructification formed by the grouping of several berries from the flowers of an inflorescence, and with the appearance of unity.

This means that it is the union of several fruits forming a single unit or large fruit.

Among the infructescences that we thought were fruits, we can find strawberries, figs, pineapples.


 
Do not forget now that you go to buy strawberries, figs, and pineapples and want to impress people can say How much is this infructescence? I'm just kidding, everything depends on you ;)
